There are many reasons why a person may feel a lack of motivation, but sometimes you feel like you're in a rut or simply burned out. No matter what measures you take to keep your motivation high, sometimes you can't avoid a setback. Mistakes, miscalculations, injuries or sometimes just boredom can sometimes make us feel that our progress has been halted. If this kind of experience is happening to you, your best bet may be to stop working out for a while. Step back and take just a little time to thoroughly look at what you have been doing. Very often, a short break of this kind is all you need to regroup and take the next step.
